The New Customer Development Leader will be responsible for generating profitable new DSD business by leading a team of fully trained Sales Prospectors that will focus on new customer acquisition, as well as, the retention and growth of those customers during their first 8 weeks of service by ensuring excellent in-store execution and customer service.   The New Customer Development Leader will spend a minimum of 5 days per week managing the entire solicitation process within assigned area, will have an active market presence, measure execution and service levels.  

Key Job Responsibilities:

  •  Model exemplary BBU leadership characteristics and values.
  •  Responsible for the overall development and execution of the 70% DSD saturation strategy in the convenience and independent channels through the established solicitation process and other related activities (research, identification, qualification and marketing).
  • Drive profitable revenue to achieve BBU s targeted growth.
  • Ensure the Soliciting team maintains a professional, solution-oriented, insight-driven approach to each business call/interaction.
  • Actively cultivate a network of potential and existing clients, executing innovative and effective go-to-market strategies to win new business.
  • Seek out and build relationships with franchise owners associations and regional chains for new business opportunities
  • Motivate and empower the team of Prospectors to achieve high volume of sales related activity, in the development and presentation of compelling sell stories.
  •  Effectively sell against competitors and position BBU as the market leader.
  • Execute and close sales calls, focused on value-added selling activities in specified accounts.
  • Activate new customers expeditiously by following the established process,
  • Communicate account and market knowledge to Sales Center, to include information on new customers, product orders and service start dates.
  • Ensure fixtures, POS and product is being ordered and deliveries are being scheduled and timely executed
  • Align the execution with the BBU Look of Success in drug, dollar, and C-stores, sells and implements campaigns, and sells promotional programming and incremental displays.
  • Ensures the execution of world class merchandising standards in the account.
  • Assures account and customer standards are met, including assuring proper POS is executed and proper maintenance of company assets.
  • Creates business partnership with customer by reviewing business results with customers and resolving customer inquiries and issues during first 8 weeks of store activation.
  •  Tracks their team s daily, weekly and monthly call activity and performance measurements against assigned goals and expectations.
  • Achieve the field safety goals; deliver on safety awareness programs accordingly to eliminate unsafe acts, eliminate workplace injuries, and lead local organization to achieve the goal of zero injuries.
  • Foster an atmosphere of continuous improvement to include the development of self, others, and work processes.

Success will be measured by:

  •  Deliver on key performance indicators for revenue, volume, controllable expenses (freshness and inventory) and 70% POS penetration in order to achieve the key objectives for assigned sales area.
  •  Ensuring new customer retention 60 days post account activation.
  • Successfully contributing to a robust pipeline of new business that provides the road map for sustainable and profitable growth
  • Identify opportunities for increased effectiveness and cost savings while maintaining defined levels of service.
  • Research and compile operational data, forecast and analyze trends and track and improve performance.
  •  Provide current and timely reporting.
  • Consult with Company to create solutions for technical and operational challenges; Develop recommendations and conclusions from information gathered, and present findings to Company.
  •  Identify opportunities to adjust and/or expand support and services.
  • Assist with research, presentation writing and new business development.
