Manager Client Operations – Retail

  • Manage the daily operation of the Retail Ready process, supervising both inside/outside coordinators and directing the work in an efficient and productive manner to meet required daily goals while meeting all quality and service standards for retail clients
  • Support retail team by preparing work schedules, determining work procedures, expediting the workflow, assigning duties and examining work for accuracy and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Monitor the flow of vehicles through the Retail Services operation, providing timely progress reporting and communication to clients.
  • Communicate with the Account Coordinators and clients on the status of inventory in process, anticipated reconditioning requirements and estimated delivery date.
  • Communicate, discuss and collaborate with Reconditioning Leadership and other Retail Services locations to share process improvements, efficiency gains and best practices.
  • Establish and maintain a close working relationship with key Retail Solutions clients
  • Monitor and confirm all mechanical and recon work on vehicles is posted timely and accurately to ensure vehicle records are maintained in compliance with contract requirements.
  • Partner with various support teams (i.e. Finance, HR, Recon, Safety, Security, Sales) to ensure effective and efficient operational processes align with company objectives, strategies, and high quality customer service and support.
  • Oversees the QC of vehicles as established by Retail Services operational standards to ensure prompt and thorough resolution of delivery and/or quality issues.
  • Work with recon team leaders to ensure work is completed timely and to customers specifications and escalates to senior recon leader when needed.
  • Respond to client inquiries and work with other departments as necessary to resolve any problems that may occur.
  • Develop team metrics to drive retail customer success, retention, and satisfaction
  • Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such. Work in cooperation with safety leadership in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
  • Effectively lead the team at the location by setting an example in behavior, championing Cox/Manheim values and ensuring that all employees are treated with respect.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.


  • BA/BS degree in related field and 7+ years of related experience with at least 1 year experience in a management or lead role#CD# or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
  • 3-5 years of competent supervisory experience required.
  • Experience in the automobile industry or the Auction business required.
  • Strong communication and interaction skills required.
  • Must be well-organized, thorough, and attentive to details.
  • Must be a self-starter able to work problems through to successful completion.
  • Ability to work well with others and maintain focus and productivity under compressed deadlines
  • is required.
  • Excellent people, teamwork and customer service skills
  • Estimating experience and a strong understanding of vehicle enhancements to meet program standards preferred.
  • Knowledge and a background in mechanical repairs is preferred
  • Solid foundation of computer skills (Microsoft Suite, AS400) and ability to learn new programs
  • Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time. Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear. Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb.
