The Sr. Software Test Engineer is responsible for a range of testing activities including designing and maintaining test suites, executing test scenarios manually, developing automated testing strategies, and implementing them in industry-standard testing frameworks. The Sr. Software Test Engineers provide testing expertise and play a role in providing advice and guidance and monitoring emerging technologies. The Sr. Software Test Engineer will serve a critical role on a system team whose mission is to deliver high-quality software that provides real value to our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop efficient and thorough test plans. Conduct sprint testing using exploratory, functional test cases and regressions (manual and automated) methods.
  • Develop and reinforce testing methods, procedures for measuring product quality, and determining release readiness.
  • Collaborate with scrum team developers to develop test for the new features.
  • Designs, develops and executes many distinct types of system level tests based on application requirements
  • Designs and creates tests scenarios and maintain test data
  • Design and create synthetic and alerts
  • Contribute to the success of the scrum team through active and collaborative participation in sprint planning, daily scrums and spring retrospectives.
  • Solve complex automation challenges and work on complex projects with minimal supervision.
  • Design and develop automated unit, functional, regression test programs or scripts based on libraries of reusable test code modules or functions.
  • Work with your team to establish and promote best practices, standards and processes for automation testing.
  • Maintains existing scripts for the purpose of reusability and regression testing.
  • Analyzes test results to identify issues and works with architects and developers to suggest improvements and drive issues to resolution.
  • Conducts applications tests, analyses and presents test results, metrics and drives issues to resolution.
  • Ability to Manage the strategy, design and execution of business process tests and usability evaluations

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related field and 5+ years of experience OR 9 years experience and education equivalency.
  • Advanced technical degree and/or related training a plus.
  • 2+ years of Software testing, automation, or software development experience.
  • Excellent Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms and design patterns
  • Experience with an object-oriented programming language such as Java or .NET.
  • Strong skills in Database Testing and thorough knowledge in SQL.
  • Knowledge of client server applications and multi-tier applications is a must
  • Ability and desire to learn new skills and technologies is very important
  • Proven ability to design test plans, scripts, and supporting documents to deliver testing in functional and non-functional areas (i.e., performance, stress, load, resilience, availability, and operational).
  • Experience integrating automated testing with CI/CD processes.
  • Understanding of Agile QA concepts, practices, processes and tools.
  • A passion for delivering high quality products to clients.
  • Excellent communication, time management, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good understanding of industry development, testing processes, deployment processes and agile development methodologies desired.
