The Principal Incentives Program Strategist is responsible for:

  • Driving business results and empowering informed, data-driven decisions by providing the product organization that supports the Cox Automotive Retail Solutions Group with timely insights
  • As an Analytics Lead for enterprise initiatives/projects that require extensive discovery effort, also serve as the go-to expert for internal and external audiences on automotive incentives data questions related to analytics and market trends
  • Manage projects and the progress of supporting team members from conception through execution, conduct presentations, market research, and make recommendations to various levels of leadership influence strategic decisions
  • Also responsible for the development of the "analytics practice" for the incentives domain and advancing the strategies for research and analytics methodologies/ technologies to lower level of efforts for common tasks and to improve overall team efficiency and effectiveness
  • Ability to develop business cases, market trend analysis, financial modeling, and research studies etc. to inform strategic enterprise product and technology initiatives

Primary duties/Key responsibilities

  • Champions a healthy team culture, ability to coach team members and support the selection, training, development, appraisal, and work assignments of team members.
  • Serve as the go-to subject matter expert within the company to provide analytics consultations for company initiatives/projects, able to establish business objectives, questions, and requirements with stakeholders and provide both strategic and tactical consultations for driving the best business outcomes, partnering with cross-functional teams within the organization to support insights-driven business decisions aimed at growth / business optimization with minimal directors support.
  • Ability to independently lead strategic projects and guide project team members on project management that sets proper expectations, including proactive communication of project milestones, timelines, deliverables, and progress against project plan. must be able to properly seek subject matter expert input from various enterprise teams (e.g. decision sciences, analytics enablement, market research, etc.)
  • Review and publish results with various sizes and levels of internal and external audiences by presenting cohesive insight stories with minimal directors support, coach others on the team with their presentations to provide cohesive insights/recommendations.
  • Monitor trends and opportunities within Cox Automotives incentives data and anticipate business needs. proactively work with stakeholders to establish requirements for advanced recurring and ad-hoc analytics support, including reporting, analyses, actionable insights, and recommendations to drive growth. set proper delivery expectations according to business priorities with limited directors oversight.
  • Apply advanced research and analytics methodologies to our internal incentives data, business data, and macro market trends to provide insights on historical trends and future new product monetization opportunities. leverage support from other team members by coaching them on proper research and analytics standards and validating their work.
  • Support the maintenance of implementation, accuracy and improvement of incentives analytics data capture, systems, and tools. validate data in our reporting and analyzing systems to ensure cross-system datasets are accurate and align to business needs
  • Establish research and analytics standards by implementing leading industry knowledge and best practices, including data mining, analyses, reporting, visualization, data stories, analytics thought partnership. ability to recognize market research and analytics advancement opportunities, initiate and develop strategic plans that will advance organizational "analytics practice" capabilities and effectiveness by driving strategy cross-functionally
  • Lead strategies for market research and analytics methodologies and technologies to improve overall analysis efficiency and effectiveness, including working cross-functionally to identify current organization gaps and emerging trends in platform and methodologies, as well as to provide recommendations on new solutions and opportunities for new monetization exploration
  • Ability to work with direct line of leadership to secure necessary resources by providing a roadmap for market research and analytics capabilities and comprehensive plans to evaluate and address organizational needs.
  • Be willing to seek out opportunities to present at industry events
  • Works with manager and direct line of leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to define team priorities that align with evolving business priorities

Compensation:

  • Compensation includes a base salary of $106,000 - 148,400. Salary may vary outside of the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidates experience.
  • Position is eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or and incentive program.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of market research and analytics experience
  • Extensive experience within the automotive industry strongly preferred. familiarity with automotive incentives programs and data a plus
  • Extensive experience with business intelligence systems (e.g. microstrategy, platfora, tableau or datameer.); expert level is preferred
  • Intermediate knowledge of sql-based relational databases (e.g. athena, netezza, redshift, etc.) and sql; expert level desired
  • Advanced excel skills required, including formula, statistical functions, graphs, visualization, macros development, and plug-ins for other business intelligence platforms; expert level desired
  • Experience in consulting on enterprise level strategy preferred
  • Fundamental knowledge of advanced statistics
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, applying the understanding of cause and effect and advanced mathematical/statistical methods to enhance findings
  • Efficient at synthesizing large volumes of data and complex questions into clear analyses and actionable findings. able to apply knowledge to help team gain efficiency
  • Extensive experience in market research and business case development
  • Advanced knowledge of audience segmentation, audience expansion, segmentation targeting, measurement, and content monetization
  • Ability to monitor industry trends, develop reports, and effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of senior level executives, internal customers, and the general public.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to champion a healthy team culture to drive best results with healthy conflicts
  • Ability to consult and influence as a subject matter expert for the incentives domain to achieve the best outcomes for broad business successes
  • Ability to anticipate stakeholders needs and recognize the opportunity to provide proactive insights to build tight thought partnership
  • Ability to translate complex questions into clear and actionable analysis plans as well as coach other team members to develop this skill,
  • Proven problem-solving ability with creative solutions; knows how to ask the right questions and prove/disprove hypotheses with data insights; not afraid to challenge assumptions
  • Bachelors degree (b. a.) from four-year college or university, preferably on business or analytical fields such as marketing, business, economics, finance, statistics, mathematics, psychology, or social science; 10+ years experience in related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. post-graduate degree or PhD. preferred
