Cox Automotive is seeking a dynamic Senior Financial Analyst to join the Manheim Finance team. This role will help develop, manage, and support the financial planning and analysis of the Product & Technology organization. Responsibilities include compiling, analyzing and communicating the monthly performance to Senior Management as well as owning the forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning.

Candidate must have a solid understanding of accounting and financial management concepts, ability to prepare and deliver executive level presentations and influence decision making. Effective communication, relationship and management skills are essential. We are a highly visible team, who work together in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role requires a motivated candidate who is comfortable interacting with all levels of the organization, including senior leadership.

Role Summary:

  • Seasoned contributor to provide financial planning and client support for Enterprise Dev Ops with a focus on IT Maintenance and Opex.
  • Manages financial planning process and procedures. Evaluates data, prepares forecasts, creates models, and analyzes risks and opportunities.
  • Self-starter that seeks to develop a deep understanding of the area of focus.
  • Detail oriented - responsible for large sets of financial and operational data.
  • Work requires independence; determines and develops approach to projects. Receives guidance only on unusual or highly complex problems. Sometimes expected to review reports/ business cases with executives.
  • Expert level of Excel proficiency and Tableau experience desired.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Performs financials analysis - Develops financial and operational analyses and identifies trends. May include cost analysis, financial and expense performance comparisons, calculations of rate of return, cash flows, and forecasting/budgeting. Additional ad-hoc analysis based on customer need.
  • Performs data analysis - Gathers and compiles data used for identifying complex business trends/dynamic and provides recommendations. Enhance construct to access and manipulate data from company data systems and sources.
  • Performs modeling - Conceptualizes, prepares and presents models, analyses and recommendations.
  • Provide financial and operational consultative services through collaborative partnerships - Recommends and facilitates changes; analyzes and reviews data and resolves questions and/or problems.
  • Monitor and optimize business processes - Provides and reviews data to ensure both compliance and effectiveness of complex operational and financial processes, identifying anomalies and making recommendations.


  • Bachelors degree in Finance/Accounting or an equivalent combination of education and work experience in a financial environment required. MBA a plus.
  • Five years of business experience with a strong focus in financial planning (budget/ forecast), financial analysis and business case modeling.
  • Strong knowledge of financial concepts, practices and procedures (e.g. IRR, NPV, DCF, payback, etc.).
  • Demonstrated analytical ability and high degree of intellectual curiosity with track record of delivered results.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills required, including logical and reference formulas, financial functions, use of pivot tables, best practice in financial model structure/design, assumption toggling, charting/graphing and formatting for executive presentations.
  • Experience with Hyperion Planning and Hyperion Reporting/Essbase is a strong plus.
  • Proven ability to prepare executive level presentations and insights.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter with flexibility and willingness to balance multiple, changing priorities and ability to work under tight deadlines. Experienced in organizing, prioritizing, and coordinating ones own work.
  • Advanced MS PowerPoint skills preferred, with an emphasis on effective, professional presentation design/formatting.
