Role Summary

Primary Product Development resource and subject matter expert for Cox Businesss Internet products. Must be willing to operate and lead in a fast-paced environment that values results and a bias for action. Responsible for features of a product portfolios lifecycle which may include roadmap, new product development, launch, customer experience, financial and operating metrics, and enhancement priorities. Has a general knowledge of Internet protocols, wireless technologies, IP addressing, and hybrid fiber coax networks. Passionate and driven to effect change and/or enhancements to satisfy customer needs and optimize the customer experience through product innovation and/or process improvements. Negotiates critical and controversial technical issues with senior leadership on ideas and solutions that impact the portfolio. Develops or provides guidance to develop, innovative solutions to highly complex and/or emerging technologies. Partners with cross-functional teams and stakeholders on ideas and solutions that impact operational results. Provides mentorship and guidance to team members and associates.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Drives expected outcomes throughout product development and product launch.
  • Ability to work closely and collaboratively with Engineering and Technology boundary partners and drive results.
  • Facilitate communication and evangelize amongst executive, peers and relevant department and cross-functional stakeholders to maintain alignment and awareness of current product state and future vision.
  • Translates product plan and roadmap into clear comprehensive business requirements for new features and enhancements, ensuring full scope of operational and customer experience needs are captured.
  • Ideates new product ideas and assists with the development and documentation of product plans and roadmaps which aligns with customer needs, market and competitive trends and corporate strategy.
  • Provides product support to boundary partners by providing product subject matter expertise and taking ownership of appropriate workstreams.
  • Monitors developments within the industry, vendor community and technology trends and considers these in light of product roadmaps.
  • Guides and supports cross-functional teams to move ideas through a project funnel from ideation through deployment as the champion and owner of the initiative.
  • Develops as an employee and mentor with respect to project development, team interactions, business insights and product development and management.
  • Identifies customer expectations and unmet needs with product and services and works with team leaders to create solutions that address gaps and enhances the customer experience.
  • Analyzes customer, business and product performance metrics and interprets underlying drivers to translate into data-based recommendations.
  • Assists with the development of business cases and sensitivities which define the product value proposition to support product and services roadmap investments, in collaboration with business partners.
  • Facilitates communication amongst project leaders, peers and relevant department and cross-functional stakeholders to maintain alignment and awareness of current product state and vision.

Qualifications:

Minimum

  • 7 or more years of experience required in related field (e.g. Technology, Telecommunications, Engineering, etc.); 5 or more years with a related advanced degree.
  • Proven track record of project execution within timeline and budget.
  • Demonstrates strong technical knowledge, ability to quickly grasp new concepts and explain in simple terms to a wide range of people.
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaborative and communication skills that allow one to work effectively with teams throughout organization.

Preferred

  • College degree. Preferred BS degree in Technical or analytical field (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science, etc.)
  • Prior Product Development experience in Telecommunications.
  • Technical knowledge of Internet services, including TCP/IP, SNMP, TR-69, DNS, DHCP and Static IP assignments, IPv4 and IPv6.
  • Working knowledge of DOCSIS, Passive Optical Network (PON), and MPLS-based Internet services.
  • Understands financial P&L concepts and has the ability to formulate a business case for new products.
  • Understanding of WiFi and LTE wireless services.
