Cox Communications is now hiring for a Growth Management Office Senior Lead for its Cox2M business line. Cox2M is a new Internet of Things (IoT) business line within Cox Communications established in 2018. The Cox2M Team’s mission is to unleash the true potential of a connected world by enabling complete asset tracking and monitoring solutions, giving businesses and communities the data and tools they need to improve processes, realize operational efficiencies, and deliver better experiences to customers and residents. About the Job

As the Growth Management Office Senior Lead, you will lead growth strategy development, strategic planning, and innovation across Cox2M verticals by assessing internal and external trends, best practices, and customer expectations; conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses to identify breakthrough insights; and making game-changing recommendations to all levels of leadership that inform the strategy and priorities for each Cox2M vertical and for the Cox2M business line as a whole.

In this role, you will be responsible for driving market insights, conducting competitive research, and discovering new ways of doing business to help our customers benefit from the transformative power of IoT solutions. This role will involve a wide-ranging set of workstreams, such as defining the process for customer discovery related to a new concept, supporting the development of public private partnerships, or developing new business models based on the needs of a particular customer segment. In the process, you will also be shaping the overall strategy for Cox2M. Your work will create the conviction in our strategic direction and help ensure that Cox2M can continue to move fast, wow customers, and deliver groundbreaking solutions that solve real challenges

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions
• Identify and collect data required for due diligence on strategic assessments, long range plans and potential new products and services as an addition to our portfolio. Utilize these findings to develop a recommendation for next steps, including market positioning and offering positioning.
• Develop detailed analytical models to support financial, technical and scenario decisions.
• Manage strategic assessments (including market competitive analysis) and valuation of new business opportunities and potential threats to sustainability of current business plans.
• Participate in the strategic planning process by researching prospective trends, business partners, competitors, emerging technologies, and applications while managing key work streams.
• Increase exposure to project ideas ranging from routine and ordinary to new assessments and strategic decisions, engaging both internal and external contributors. Provide perspective and recommendations on whether to move forward with new initiatives/opportunities.
• Evaluate investment opportunities that align with strategy or are deemed critical to the each vertical team’s success and to further enhance long-term viability of leading-edge technologies, products or services.
• Evaluate and recommend acquisitions, partnerships, alliances, joint ventures, investments and internal start-ups to support each vertical team’s strategic goals.
• Develop business, financial, and operational plans for new business opportunities.
• Develop detailed financial models to articulate the financial value provided to customers (especially cities, in the Smart Communities context) and to Cox.
• Perform primary and secondary research to better understand our customers, competitors, and our markets.
• Develop PowerPoint presentations that represent the outputs of the financial models and insights from other strategic research.
• Become proficient in the Cox2M technology stack and solution suite and their points of integration.


Skills and Qualifications


• 3+ years of related experience; corporate strategy, consulting, private equity, M&A.
• Strong strategic, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to collaborate, lead and facilitate strategy discussions across the organization
• Experience in start-up businesses and/or end-to-end new product development experience, with entrepreneurial spirit
• Demonstrable knowledge of Financial Modeling and PowerPoint presentation development

• BS/BA degree in quantitative discipline desired (Engineering, Finance, Economics, etc.)
• General Working knowledge of technology highly preferred (e.g. know OSI model)
• Experience in telecommunications or “High Tech” environment preferred
• Experience in big data and analytics preferred
• General working knowledge of Operations and Interdependencies preferred
• IoT knowledge and experience
• Smart City knowledge and experience
