Leads and/or participates in the design, development, and implementation of complex system engineering activities involving cross-functional technical support, systems programming and data center capabilities. Responsible for components of highly complex engineering and/or analytical tasks and activities. Establishes input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility, coordination of subsystems design, and integration of total system. Viewed as a technology subject matter expert; able to provide and communicate complex technology solutions across differing audiences including technical, managerial, business executives, and/or vendors. Will have responsibility for multiple, complex projects; will direct activities of teams related to special initiatives or operations and may have direct reports. Leads the resolution process for complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results. Information Technology degree and/or technology certifications preferred or substantial equivalent experience. Typically 7-10 years of IT experience.

"Market Data Technology & Services (MDT&S), is a unit within GBAM Technology Infrastructure (TI), responsible for the product lifecycle and support of market data platforms and services. Responsibilities include, providing critical and latency sensitive financial market information utilizing specialized infrastructure, software, third-party/exchange connectivity and protocols to enable electronic trading and other business practices.

The role entails the implementation, operation, and management of market data platforms in a high-pressure support environment which includes the following duties:

Provide technical support requiring in-depth knowledge of low latency market data platforms.

Participate in weekend and off-hours on-call rotations and conduct after trading hours changes in support of internal releases and exchange driven changes.

Ensure market data systems are functioning with sufficient capacity and resiliency for high availability.

Ensure all market data operational support directives are carried out.

Manage supplier and exchange driven changes, technical activities and maintain third-party relationships.

Serve as an expert on technical and business usage of market data platforms, services, and content.

Manage market data issues and expeditiously apply trouble-shooting / problem resolution skills to minimize business productivity loss, customer impact, and financial / reputational risk.

Engage with business lines, application development, and technology partners to develop and deliver on business strategies and objectives.

Required Skills:

Financial data feed collection and distribution technologies

Low-latent market data delivery technologies and performance tuning

Hard and soft skill qualifications needed are as follows:

Strong knowledge in Market Data Capacity, System and Latency metrics gathering, tooling and analysis.

Strong knowledge in consolidated feed providers such as Thomson Reuters Real-Time Data Feed (Elektron).

Hands-on experience with ITRS Geneos Net-Agent monitoring system.

Strong scripting skills for software/system management and automation.

Methodical problem solving analysis and resolution skills.

Ability to perform technical relationship management routines with exchanges and suppliers.

Agility to work in a high-pressure support environment.  

Good interpersonal, analytical and communication skills.
