The Bank of America Cloud hosting team is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Hosting Architect team leader to help drive an automated, cohesive, resilient, scalable and supportable architecture across the infrastructure hosting stack. A wide experience base covering hardware, virtualization, Windows and Linux tech stacks including automation and operational concerns is critical for this role. The Hosting teams goal is to develop a robust, highly automated engineering, certification, build and runtime environment. In short, we are moving to manage the environment as Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and need someone that can help us ensure consistency and completeness in approach.

Required Skills:

Organizational Leadership Skills

  • Ability to partner, drive direction, make and communicate decisions across organizational boundaries
  • Excellent partner & teammate to peers: able to influence and resolve across organizational lines and willingness to mentor others based on your history and skillset
  • Experience working thru transition from a traditional silo d set of teams to a SRE and/or DevOps support methodology
  • Experience with helping migrate teams to Agile methodologies

Architectural Leadership Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to produce, document, socialize and adjust complex architecture solutions across multiple dimensions and organizational priorities
  • Comfortable working with teams to break apart and document high level architectures into modular development activities that provide incremental value to all stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly document and articulate holistic designs and adjust based on partner feedback to ensure all aspects
  • Ability to draw out and document detailed requirements across the technology stack and organizations

Technical Leadership Skills

  • Strong leadership background/skills (ideal candidate will be managing a team of 35+ resources globally)
  • Demonstrated mentality for security and low trust models in all aspects of design
  • Understanding of modern software development lifecycle methodologies and the implementation of security principals throughout
  • Total comfort leveraging JIRA and Confluence for documenting architectural and development decisions in an iterative manner
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and Jenkins
  • Functional experience deploying Microsoft SCCM is a plus
  • Exposure to Software defined networking, ideally NSX, is very desirable
  • Experience with Authentication / Authorization Protocols (OAuth, SAML, Kerberos) is desirable
  • 10+ years production experience with VMware SDDC suite and x86 hardware
  • 5+ years applied experience with core Windows/Linux OS engineering

Desired Job Skills:

  • Prior work experience in an operations role
  • Prior experience in a financial institution
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Security or related field experience
