PULAU Corporation is hiring for the Doctrine Trainer position located in Kabul, Afghanistan in support of the ETSC contract, AIAT task order.  The Army Institutional Advisory Team (AIAT) is a critical element in building and maintaining a professional Afghanistan National Security Force (ANSF) by training and assisting at the Marshall Fahim National Defense University (MFNDU) and Kabul Military Training Center (KMTC).  This is an OCONUS position living and working in Afghanistan. Hazard and hardship differentials are applied to the base pay for this position. 

a) Train the ANA on how to best support developing strategic, operational and tactical level doctrine in accordance with AFG requirements.

b) Train operational level doctrine development for continuity and retain institutional knowledge of Doctrine Development when training incoming military personnel during six-month rotations and change overs. Provide general training and mentoring expertise and train to support the sustainment and development of doctrine, lessons learned and leadership teams.

c) Make recommendations to strategic level doctrine development trainer in close coordination with the ministerial level trainer at AMoD.

d) Make recommendations to tactical level doctrine development in close coordination with doctrine development departments at branch schools.

e) Support the development of an ANA doctrine hierarchy and doctrine development process.

f) Process lessons identified and lessons learned into doctrine, and train the ANA in developing an integrated process for incorporating lessons identified and learned into doctrine and POIs.

g) Support development of training and doctrine development processes. Understand the process of doctrine writing.

h) Works in AIAT Doctrine Development Team. Understand the doctrine development process at AMoD, TED-C, ANATEC, MFNDU, and branch school levels.  



  •  2 years General Staff G-3 Training experience
  • Military Education Level (MEL) 4
  • Experience as an advisor in Iraq or Afghanistan
  • Valid US passport with at least 6 months of remaining eligibility and must be a US citizen.
  • Must be willing and able to live and work in Afghanistan.
  • Successfully pass a background check for CAC and other access pass/badge requirements.
  • May be required to successfully complete CRC for deployment to Afghanistan.
  • Valid US driver license.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a SECRET clearance.


Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able wear body armor and helmet Personal Protective Gear, unassisted lifting and carrying of duffle bags not exceed the weight of 70 lbs. per piece, and the unassisted movement over uneven terrain.
  • Must be willing to work and live in Afghanistan with an understanding that there could be further assignments to any location in Afghanistan based upon the needs of the U.S. Government, to include hostile and austere areas.
  • Must meet the medical requirements for the position being offered as determined by a pre-employment medical screening and in accordance with published CRC and USCENTCOM medical deployment standards.
  • Must be able to routinely climb / descend stairs.
  • May be required to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances, under extreme weather conditions, within a hostile environment.
  • May be exposed to extreme noise from aircraft, hostile fire, and other acts of aggression associated with this region.
  • Contractor personnel shall comply with all theater command policies, regulations, and General Orders. All tours are unaccompanied.
  • Refrain from using alcohol/substances inappropriately—abide by CENTCOM’s General Order #1.
