We are seeking a highly motivated Applications Systems Engineer (ASE6) expert in Hogan IDS TDA (Integrated Deposit Systems & Time Deposit Account).
This mainframe senior programmer will provide technical leadership and support for the TDA development team and programs.
Duties of this role include but are not limited to: analyzing business requirements, designing and writing technical specifications, and developing new or complex code as well as providing coding guidance to less experienced onshore and offshore staff.
As a technical lead, this ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing and certifying all code changes migrating to production and will ensure that compliance requirements are met. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for providing project sizing and assigning technical tasks. Ability to communicate between teams and organizations across the company as well as advanced negotiation skills are highly desired.
As an escalation point for application support and troubleshooting, this ideal candidate will provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff to resolve complex issues in the test and/or production environments.

Successful individual in this role will demonstrate the following competencies:
- Ability to quickly adapt within our fast paced environment
- Strong technical acumen with the ability to function in a mainframe and Agile application development environment
- Ability to maintain and/or modify existing applications or develop complex programs
- Ability to analyze complex code, test and debug programs, and assist others
- Ability to analyze complex business requirements and assist in writing technical specifications
- Ability to complete necessary systems documentation, procedures, and user guides
- Ability to task effectively between multiple initiatives and deliver high-quality products within service level agreement (SLA)
- Ability to communicate effectively across teams and partnerships

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of application development and implementation experience
  • 10+ years of Hogan experience
  • 10+ years of experience working within an application development environment

Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • 10+ years of Mainframe experience
  • 10+ years of Cobol experience
  • Experience with Agile Scrum (Daily Standup, Sprint Planning and Sprint Retrospective meetings) and Kanban
  • Knowledge and understanding of SDLC (System Development Life Cycle)
  • Knowledge and understanding of PAC2000
  • Knowledge and understanding of Endevor
  • Messaging Queue (MQ) experience
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex technical problems
  • Advanced problem solving and technical troubleshooting capabilities
  • Ability to identify business needs and deliver solutions in close partnership with line of business and technology
  • Experience supporting or directing offshore teams
