This Apps Systems Engineer 4 position within Brokerage Technology is part of a high performing team and the successful candidate must be comfortable with being able to multi-task across varied activities.

The Compensation Team is looking for a highly skilled Developer to act as a technical resource to conduct development, unit testing, and code deployment.  They will be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the available technology, tools, and existing designs and will work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires in depth evaluation.  This role will require coordination of assignments on multiple concurrent technology projects.  They will work collaboratively with other IT team members, server, network, DBA, architecture, information security, data transmission and project management support personnel.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform analysis to troubleshoot production support issues (web and batch) and determine resolution and root cause of issue.
  • Design, develop and debug web-based applications.
  • Follow all security code practices in the development of code.
  • Follow full life-cycle development process.
  • Experience creating and debugging SQL.
  • Follow established development guidelines and best practices to maintain project deliverables
  • Ensure application design and code meets user interface standards.
  • Participate in design; update/develop design documentation as necessary.
  • Report project status to Project Managers and/or Business Analyst
  • Assist in and/or create Release notes to migrate code through various environments
  • Conduct design and/or code walk throughs as required
  • Provide management with ongoing assessment of risk and escalate issues as appropriate

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of application development and implementation experience
  • 3+ years of C#.NET experience
  • 3+ years of experience with database platforms such as Oracle, SQL Server, or DB2

Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in information technology
  • 3+ years of PL/SQL experience
  • Financial industry experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of brokerage: systems or applications
  • 3+ years of application production support experience
  • 3+ years of JavaScript development experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) skills
  • Web Services experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of JavaScript framework
  • Fortify Code Analyzer experience
  • UNIX experience

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Ability to understand moderately complex business specifications, deliver complex projects and publish a technical design
  • Ability to solve problems quickly, decisively and understand when to escalate
  • Ability to articulate complex technical issues and ideas in comprehensible business terms
  • Demonstrated ability to design, build and test complex technology solutions
  • Experience with compensation applications
  • Experience with Angular
  • Experience with technical tools such as: GitHub, uDeploy and Jenkins
  • Experience with Visual Studios (VS2017), SQL Developer, SPLUNK and Enterprise Architect
