Data Management and Insights (DMI) is transforming the way that Wells Fargo uses and manages data. Our work enables Wells Fargo to empower and inform our team members, deliver exceptional experiences for our customers, and meet the elevated expectations of our regulators. The team is responsible for designing the future data environment, defining data governance and oversight, and partnering with technology to operate the data infrastructure for the company. This team also provides next generation analytic insights to drive business strategies and help meet our commitment to satisfy our customers’ financial needs.

 The Artificial Intelligence Model Development Center of Excellence (AI MD CoE) team is a data science team, responsible for developing and deploying machine learning and AI solutions for a number of domain areas such as fraud prevention, credit risk, experience personalization, customer listening, anomaly detection and operational cost improvement. The CoE partners closely with the AI Enterprise Solutions and the AI Technology teams at the bank, and brings a cross-functional approach to identifying, developing and deploying AI solutions.

 The CoE requires high-skill/ high-motivation individuals who enjoy working collaboratively in a team setting, used to taking decisions autonomously and comfortable with a dynamic work environment.

 The Lead – Process and Governance role would be responsible for ensuring that operating processes within the CoE are consistent, high-quality and are being implemented in a uniform manner. The role would also be responsible to run key processes around capacity planning and model intake for the CoE. Finally the role would be responsible to define the right interaction models with partner teams within and outside the CoE, including regulatory teams and audit.

 The role of the Leader would be to hire and manage a team that can deliver on the objectives of the role.

 Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Defining the operating processes within the CoE in accordance with internal business needs, governance requirements and industry best practices. These would span model development lifecycle processes as well as planning and support processes for the CoE.
  • Implementing the defined processes and measuring process execution effectiveness
  • Running capacity planning and resource planning processes for the CoE, in partnership with the model development team within the CoE and external partners such as AIES and CMoR
  • Working with stakeholders inside and outside the CoE, to successfully implement the planning and support processes
  • Driving interactions with audit and regulatory partners, present the CoE artifacts, documentation and processes for review
  • People management responsibilities such as hiring, performance management, routine travel and equipment/ software related approvals

  • Accomplish management responsibilities which include sourcing and hiring talented team members, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing team members, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks.


Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: administrative support management, project management, business operations or strategic planning in financial services
  • 3+ years of management experience
  • 3+ years of reporting experience, analytics experience or a combination of both





Other Desired Qualifications
  • Proven experience with the model development lifecycle for statistical or data science models
  • Have previous experience with operational process definition, documentation and measurement
  • Experience in defining quantitative/ measurable team goals, based on the business objectives and operational excellence goals, and demonstrate ways of measuring those goals
  • Demonstrate strong written and oral presentation skills, and strength with PowerPoint presentations
  • Bring strong collaboration and team-work capabilities
  • Show the ability to connect across a diverse group of stakeholders and build strong partnerships
