The Payments, Virtual Solutions, and Innovation (PVSI) team includes Operations, Consumer Credit Card, Retail Services, Consumer Deposits, the Innovation Group, Treasury Management, Merchant Services, Marketing and Wells Fargo Virtual Channels and the professional services teams that partner with these businesses. PVSI's focus is on delivering the next generation of payments and deposit capabilities and advancing our digital and online offerings to design new customer experiences and products. This Analytic Consultant 4 will be responsible for managing initiatives focused on data quality standards and improvements in the area of Wells Fargo customer account data being reported to the national Consumer Reporting Agencies (CRAs) – Equifax, Experian, Innovis, Trans Union and Early Warning Services. This position will:
• Actively manage analysis and monitoring functions that ensure Wells Fargo furnished data meets the highest quality standards and supports the Credit Bureau Management Program (CBMP) Data Furnishing Center of Excellence (DF-COE) team.
• Engage with broader CBMP team and PVSI/CB business unit partners to provide regular updates on performance of key Data Quality Management initiatives
• Work with the CBMP DF-COE team to ensure key KPIs and KRIs are reported on dashboards and information is actionable and supports management of risks relative to account reporting; Ensure alignment with broader Wells Fargo KPI programs
• Support integration of data furnished to Early Warning Services into existing Data Quality Management program initiatives and functions
• Perform analysis and monitoring for post Commitment to Customer (C2) remediation efforts specific to credit bureau reporting to drive accuracy and sustainability of resolution
• Utilize Industry Benchmarking tools to develop and deliver assessment of performance to quality standards against industry peer performance

This role will help to ensure Wells Fargo has a best in class credit bureau management program, and will have exposure to broad range of risk management

Specifically this individual will have and provide data, technical, and testing expertise, lead through influence, and drive execution of the following: 
• Strategy Development and Implementation: Partner with technology, business lines, and Corporate Risk + Controls to execute on data quality management program deliverables and proactively identify best practices and functions as a COE that help mitigate risk.
• Risk Mitigation: Analyze account reporting scenarios and account data to understand / mitigate root causes of credit and deposit data furnishing issues and improve overall data quality. Leverage systems, processes, and applicable policies to identify potential problems and opportunities and implement effective, consistent, and sustainable solutions.
• Analysis and Risk Identification: Work with technology and business risk/control teams relative to account management policies and protocols that may be contributing to reporting risks. Review and provide recommendations to effectively mitigate the root causes of credit and deposit furnishing data quality issues.
• Data and Reporting:  Provide insightful analysis and reporting to the CBMP DF-COE, and the PVSI/CB leadership teams for the Credit Bureau Management Program. Provide key performance/risk indicators and factors that contribute to risks and inconsistencies. Review boundary and threshold standards and set appropriate ranges that ensure the highest possible data quality for Wells Fargo customer data.  Present action plans to limit and/or eliminate material risks.  Simplify the complex. 
• Facilitate sharing of best practices and communication: Develop relationships across multiple organizations. Identify and share best practices with business partners across the Wells Fargo Enterprise and PVSI/CB business units.  Lead meetings with PVSI/CB Business and Business Control Leaders to discuss Data Quality program strategies, issues, mitigating controls, and cost effective solutions using a risk-based approach.



Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling; or a Masters degree or higher in a quantitative field such as applied math, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics, econometrics, computer sciences, or business/social and behavioral sciences with a quantitative emphasis and 4+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling



Desired Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience with SAS or SQL, or other data management, reporting and query tools
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of research and analysis
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy



Other Desired Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience utilizing Tableau, or other business intelligence and data visualization tools
  • 4+ years of experience utilizing Ab-Initio and/or SAS data quality evaluation and data management tools
  • Knowledge and understanding of artificial intelligence and machine learning technology
  • Direct work experience utilizing data management, analysis, and business intelligence tools (e.g. SAS, SQL, Python, Tableau) to engage with large data sets and perform analysis supporting the daily functions of a Data Quality Team
  • Demonstrated work experience in the development and implementation of a Key Performance/Key Risk Indicators program; includes development/implementation of automated reporting dashboards and monitoring routines
  • Recent (within last two years) demonstrated experience with various systems of record (e.g. FDR, Black Knight), solid understanding of CDIA Reference Guide, Metro2 Reporting Requirements, and FCRA requirements relative to data furnishers / reporters
  • Recent (within last two years) demonstrated experience with Early Warning Services including knowledge of deposit, credit/debit card data files
  • Successful track record providing advice and counsel to management on significant initiatives to improve data quality
  • Ability to communicate powerfully and prolifically to a broad range of audience and simplify the complex
  • Ability to influence without direct authority, create and manage  change (while achieving results), and influence people at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to execute effectively in a matrixed organization and develop partnerships with many business and functional areas
  • BA/BS or higher degree in Business, Analysis, Data Science, Technology, or related field
  • Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher) certification
  • Certification in related risk field
