Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk. The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

These Employee Relations Manager roles are responsible for managing the allegation investigatory and fact finding process for team members across the enterprise. The position will have responsibility for determining if cases are allegations requiring further fact finding and if not, ensure a thorough review of the team member’s concern is complete for appropriate resolution.  These roles will be responsible for ensuring Employee Relations Consultants are provided adequate training and support to facilitate the allegation investigatory and fact finding process. The positions may provide support for escalated issues by engaging with business leaders to resolve concerns. The positions will report into an Employee Relations Sr. Manager on the Conduct Management Enterprise Investigations Team.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Manages and may resolve escalated ER cases as well as cases originating through the Ethics Line.
  • Evaluates strategies and supports enhancements of the Conduct Management Enterprise Investigations Model through effective consultation, use of data and trends, and interpretation of metrics to support business decisions, internal leadership training, and talent assessment.
  • Independently and effectively influences and negotiates with senior partners and stakeholders as required.
  • Provides direct leadership, coaching, and development to geographically dispersed ER Consultants with enterprise responsibility for handling allegation cases with a focus on risk management and the Wells Fargo Vision, Values and Guidelines.
  • Performs quality review of consultation, case documentation and adherence to established practices; provides feedback and suggests process changes as appropriate.
  • Develops and implements processes which balance adherence to audit, regulatory and leadership requirements with concern for team member experience and overall efficiency.
  • Manages relationships with broader Conduct Management and HR/ER community.  Independently and effectively influences and negotiates with senior partners and stakeholders across Lines of Business to resolve conflict.
  • Responsible for risk mitigation, employment-law compliance and achievement of organizational effectiveness through an alignment of Wells Fargo’s Conduct Management Enterprise Investigations model and business objectives.

**Note:  Multiple Hiring Managers.  Position will report to any one of the ER Sr. Managers across the Conduct Management Enterprise Investigations Team(s) that have an open position(s).

Conduct Management is a centralized team within Corporate Risk.  Conduct Management has enterprise-wide responsibilities that include case intake (including EthicsLine), triage, research, and investigations related to potential team member misconduct.  These functions are supported by reporting and analytics capability, training, ethics and ethics advisory, and relationship management support for the front line.

As a Team Member Manager, you are expected to achieve success by leading yourself, your team, and the business. Specifically you will:

  • Lead your team with integrity and create an environment where your team members feel included, valued, and supported to do work that energizes them.
  • Accomplish management responsibilities which include sourcing and hiring talented team members, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing team members, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks.


Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of employee relations consulting experience or human resources consulting experience; or 4+ years of leadership experience that includes coaching on employee relations issues of various scope and complexity
  • 2+ years of employee relations experience



Desired Qualifications

  • 2+ years of management experience
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of human resources practices and policies
  • Leadership experience with ability to effectively manage and engage teams
  • Highly refined and professional verbal and written communications
  • Ability to identify and evaluate trends, isolate root cause, and provide swift/thorough resolution
  • Ability to interact with integrity and a high level of professionalism with all levels of team members and management
  • Strong conflict resolution skills



Other Desired Qualifications
  • Employee relations investigating and fact finding experience
  • Experience with risk mitigation, employment-law compliance and achievement of organizational effectiveness
