Technology Control is the front line group within Technology accountable for assessing and ensuring the effective management of associated risks for Technology. This team counsels group leadership on the technology risk portfolio, which includes issue management, remediation and regulatory interactions and facilitates strong cooperation between technology, independent risk management and Audit.


This role will report directly to the Head of Technology  Remediation and serve as the key point of contact for specific remediation lifecycle of activities pertaining to the Technology Regulatory Remediation with accountability to drive closure readiness for assigned issues. Responsible for remediation management of regulatory deliverables against supervisory expectations and in adherence with Wells Fargo Regulatory Relations guidelines and WFC Issue Management Policy.

In this capacity, the Regulatory Closure Readiness Leader will provide expert guidance related to closure readiness and preparation of regulatory closure materials package materials including: overseeing assigned regulatory remediation portfolio; ensuring rigor of corrective action completion with traceability to regulatory issue (supervisory letter language); evaluating operational readiness and sustainability of remediation; and ensuring effective communications across the lifecycle with timely escalation as appropriate.     

Charged with ensuring WFT planned remediation activities are consistent with the Enterprise Risk frameworks, policies, and programs and risk appetite framework, and are well calibrated and integrated within Technology. Ensure business is appropriately staffed with capacity and skills to properly manage the risk. Escalate concerns and issues to Senior Leadership, Independent Risk Management, Management Committees and the Board as appropriate. Manage relationships and foster a team orientation with Technology Control partners, WFT partners, Business Control Executives, Independent Risk Management, Legal, Audit and Multiple regulators. Ensure remediation is executed with the lens of meeting heightened risk management expectations.


Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Technology Risk Management experience
  • 10+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 10+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 5+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both

Other Desired Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in regulatory interactions and proven ability to close regulatory issues. Experience with remediating regulatory issues and understanding of the rigor required to do so. 
  • 10+ years of experience within an Enterprise Technology function, Audit or Technology Risk function with demonstrated knowledge of Technology systems, applications, infrastructure and emerging Technology and associated risks in a business environment
  • 10+ years management experience with demonstrated leadership skills and strategic ability to execute operational risk management programs including regulatory lifecycle management
  • Experience managing information Technology risk programs that align to a Technology Business function
  • Experience in compliance, operational risk, IT systems security, business process mgmt. or financial services, (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk) 
  • Broad and significant knowledge of Technology and the associated challenges, risks and required controls inherent in a complex environment, including knowledge of SDLC (particularly Agile), Change Management, Enterprise Architecture, Cloud, Vendor and third party, Data, Artificial Intelligence / Robotics and Process Automation, BCP / Operational Resiliency, problem and incident management, access management, asset management, compliance, information security, Audit/SOC/SOX, and general line of business regulatory requirements across retail banking, lending, capital markets, wealth and investment management, etc.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Technology and Security risk frameworks – COBIT, FFIEC, NIST, ITIL, COSO, BASEL, and OCC Heightened Standards
  • Proven prior experience in comprehensive risk ownership and accountability for the risk profile positioning
  • Track record of providing constructive consulting  with appropriate issue escalation and offering solutions
  • Strong ability and experience working with and collaborating with leaders and team members at all levels and across functional lines.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and lead in a matrix environment both domestically and internationally
  • Professional certifications such as CPA, CSCP, CRCM, CGTECHNOLOGY, CRISC, CITP, CISA, CISSP
