Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk.  The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

The Financial Crimes Risk Management (FCRM) group within the Corporate Compliance organization is the independent risk management function for the financial crimes risk disciplines which include BSA/AML, Sanctions, and OFAC. FCRM owns the Global Financial Crimes Risk Management (FCRM) Program that documents how FCRM manages financial crimes risk in a comprehensive and effective manner to protect the Company and its reputation. 

The FCRM Targeted Risk and Controls Evaluation (TRACE) Team is responsible for executing targeted reviews in the areas of high and emerging financial crimes risk in accordance with the FCRM TRACE Review Activities Program (RAP). These review activities include targeted reviews that are conducted as needed to independently evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of business processes or activities and mitigating controls.  

Within the FCRM TRACE Team, the TRACE Center of Excellence (COE) supports the administration, execution and reporting of the FCRM Review Activities Programs (RAP). We currently have an opportunity on the TRACE Center of Excellence responsible for managing the TRACE issues management process, inclusive of the enhancement, tracking and monitoring of detailed issues as identified in TRACE review reports. A successful candidate in this role will also help manage responsibilities associated with the execution of TRACE review and validation activities to ensure that such activities are executed according to procedures. The individual in this key role will also have responsibility for maintaining TRACE program documentation (procedures, templates, etc.) and assisting with other relevant core COE responsibilities as applicable.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 6+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 3+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
  • Knowledge and understanding of Shared Risk Platform (SHRP) such as reporting and issue management
  • Knowledge and understanding of issues or change management processes
  • Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS)
  • An active Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) designation

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Advanced written and verbal presentation skills; an expectation to produce high quality deliverables
  • Advanced analysis skills to formulate relevant conclusions for Senior Management and Leadership
  • Knowledge of financial crimes legal and regulatory requirements (e.g. BSA/AML, Fraud)
  • Strong technical knowledge of risk management frameworks, internal control objectives and testing
  • Experience developing and implementing project level processes, procedures and performance metrics
  • Superior critical thinking and analysis skills in areas of high subjectivity
  • Demonstrated ability to provide proactive and relevant credible challenge with value added feedback
  • Extensive experience executing internal controls testing (i.e. review of control design/performance)
  • Demonstrated experience independently executing audit/compliance reviews with high visibility
