Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk. The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

Consumer Lending Risk Management Team is seeking a highly motivated and talented risk professional be a part of our Card Portfolio Analytic Team. This is a critical position and will drive optimization of our Cards line management programs, with the opportunity to play an active role in strategy governance, oversight and enhancement.

Wells Fargo Consumer Credit Solutions is seeking a senior Credit Portfolio Consultant to help drive Account Management programs, including but not limited to new channel and prospect strategies, account and customer treatment optimizations, multiple credit card product strategies.

Duties may include:

  • Perform analysis to develop Credit Card and Personal Line/Loan strategies that maximize profits and/or asset growth and minimize credit and/or operating losses and other risk exposures
  • Determine impact of account management strategies including development of loss forecasts
  • Develop portfolio strategies that could include complex data knowledge, extraction, manipulation, reporting, segmentation, decision tree analysis, strategy analysis and validation
  • Produce and review monthly, quarterly and annual strategy performance reports for senior management
  • Review and analyze trends in current customer population and recommend strategies
  • Provide documentation for test setup, strategy criteria, methodology and loss forecasting
  • Create and present strategy decks to a wide audience including senior management
  • Develop strong partnerships with product, marketing, finance, execution and production partners
  • Develop, test and audit new strategy code and processes
  • Represent risk team independently at strategy meetings and lead strategy discussions

Qualified candidates will have outstanding analytical skills, excellent communication skills, high degree of initiative, strong partnering and interpersonal skills, solid project/process management skills, and experienced SAS and/or Python/R coding skills. Must possess a results driven attitude committed to quality work.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of risk experience

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills
  • Outstanding problem solving and decision making skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important

Other Desired Qualifications
  • 6+ years prior credit underwriting, risk analysis, or comparable analytical position (or 4+ years with a Ph.D. degree)
  • Strong SAS and SQL data processing and analytical skills, and hands on experience in data science/machine learning and test design
  • Solid collaboration and leadership skill to work within risk department and with other partners, such finances, marketing, and execution
  • Prior experience in both credit card and personal loan risk management role
  • Proven track record with hands on experience in business analytics and strategy recommendations
