Position Purpose:

<span style="font-family:"Segoe UI",sans-serif">Under immediate direction, provides timely response of customer inquiries up to and including pick-ups, schedules, product orders, etc., and all other aspects of a customer’s needs.  Dispatches vehicles on a pre-set route for each Route Driver on a daily basis, in the interest of efficient customer service. The Dispatcher is a member of the Operations team and plays an integral role as the face of Shred-it and Medical Waste.  The Dispatcher maintains Stericycle policies, standards, and practices and ensures adherence to Stericycle’s Vision, Mission and Values.

Key Job Activities:

Complete all Sales Force DC cases that include; customer requests, pick up changes, installs, removals, purges and rescheduling missed stops.  Provides highest level of customer service to all customers in line with Customer 1st objectives.  Monitor and escalate SFDC cases to supervisor.  Assist walk-in customers. Provide the highest level of customer service to assigned accounts on a daily basis, communicating any issues to Transportation Manager/Supervisor or Dispatcher for resolution.  This includes, but is not limited to re-routes, adjustments in container sizes, training, etc.  

Build and print routes including but not limited to shipping documents, route sheets, barcode labels and handle additional Routing related administrative duties as listed below: 
•    Account Updates in Customer Portal or Routing System 
•    Assist with routine handheld/printer availability and operation.
•    Ensures that routes are balanced  
•    Create load sheets
•    Manifest handling/Prepares reviews and stamps all manifests.  
•    Review, maintain, and updates route standards as new customer are added, and current customers are removed. 
•    Driver Communication twice a day (11am & 2pm) to get route updates. Dispatch drivers, where needed, for extra or missed pick-ups.
•    Debrief drivers in accordance with written SOP's. 
•    Reviews driver’s paperwork and files paperwork.   
•    Complete consolidated manifests for trailer shipments. 
•    Forwards VCR (Vehicle Condition Report) reports to Transportation Supervisor/Manager for maintenance request.  
•    Download Driver Handheld Devices daily 
•    Process Open order report
•    Order Shipping and Route Driver Supplies
•    Handle 3rd Party Hauler paperwork
•    Assists Trans Supervisor/Manager as needed/directed

Communicate performance standards and objectives.  Manage driver and Dispatcher KPI’s. 

Monitors Company policies and procedures, communicate to staff, as necessary. Maintains a safe and compliant workplace at all times. In the absence of a manager/supervisor, monitor and ensure that employees are performing their functions safely and productively. Make recommendations for changes or improvement, when necessary, in order to prevent accident or injuries.  Oversee and participate in the maintenance of local inventory control.  Assist Supervisor with ensuring driver trainings are completed on time. 

Completed other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

Preferred Education: in High School or Equivalent
Experience (North America & LATAM):

Required Education:  None
Preferred Education:  High School or equivalent; some college preferred.  
Required Years of Experience (North America only):   0 - 1 year
Preferred Experience:   Basic knowledge; Two or more years of Transportation/Logistic experience preferred but not required. Knowledge and prior use of routing system.
