Rail Plant Operations Supervisor
Pittsburgh, PA Area

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

The overall guiding expectation is that the supervisor will actively engage with our customer's site leader(s) and full-time field employees to ensure that all rail operations under his or her direction at the plant are striving to achieve excellent performance in the areas of safety, environmental and overall job quality.
  • Clearly communicates goals around operating performance
  • Participates in safety meetings and overall training initiatives
  • Performs safety observations in the field and identifies trends or areas of improvement
  • Ensures that all incidents are investigated and participates directly in significant incidents
  • Works closely with the field employees and customer to identify improvement areas, efficiencies and help implement them
  • Ensures positive recognition is occurring for good performance
  • Identifies future leaders and creates individual development plans
  • Performs annual performance evaluations with field employees
Preferred Job Qualifications:
  • Experience in a leadership role involving railroad operations, safety, and training
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to builds trust
  • Attentive and active listening skills
Minimum Job Qualifications:
  • 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
  • Stable work history with good references from past employers
  • Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
  • Speak fluent English
  • PSC is a veteran-friendly company. Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus.
