The Manager, Security Field is responsible for managing the security and investigations program for a Cox region by providing a safe working environment for all employees and visitors. Responsible for protecting all Cox regional assets including property, materials, cash and brand image through a cost-effective administration of security resources and professional incident management systems to significantly reduce liability while employing recovery methods for accidental and intentional losses of Cox and assets interests.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manages team of security professionals and provides coaching, performance planning, and regular assessment of job performance.
• Ensures personal safety and risk mitigation to minimize loss exposure by managing damage and plaintiff claim processes to assure timely recoveries while providing excellent customer service.
• Manages security operations to ensure for a secure working environment.
• Aligns various security elements and contractor resources necessary to reduce liabilities by providing standardization and consistency in application of approved policies and procedures as well as maintains and manages the application of security, intrusion, CCTV, access control systems for Cox facilities within the Region.
• Prepares and conducts education and training of Cox employees and leadership on plant and damage response and recovery procedures and interacts with contractors, regulatory agencies, and utilities as it relates to damage claims or compliance with pertinent legal requirements for Cox property and interests.
• Supports business continuity plans, i.e. emergencies, hazardous incidents, disasters, etc., for the Region.
• Manages internal security programs and investigations and assists Human Resources with sensitive investigations as needed.
• Manages and investigates theft and fraud cases, directs discovery operations, gathers evidence, develops cases and collaborates with business, HR and legal for case disposition and recovery opportunities.
• Establishes and maintains law enforcement cooperation with Federal, State and local law enforcement organizations. Acts as a liaison between Cox and all Federal, State, and local law enforcements.
• Oversees the design and construction of all building security systems, controls for intrusion, and access control systems for Cox buildings in region. Partners with local integrators and corporate security to ensure consistency in application.
• Networks with industry resources to ensure Market and/or Region is fully informed around security while maintaining seats on professional security and related boards and councils.
• Ensures achievement of department goals and procedures as they relate to security.
• Contributes to creation of regional operating and capital budgets, prepares forecasts, and ensures operating costs remain within approved budget.
• Serves as the liaison to all contract security providers and local law enforcement, Coordinates the security providers at all Cox facilities with in assigned market.
• Provides training to casual users on equipment/access cards as needed and provides new employee orientation training.
• Develops and distributes reports relating to alarm activity and usage of access control system efficiency.

• Works with Regional Security Operations Center (RSOC) to determine access levels in conjunction with management, inputs access levels based on department operation needs, programs changes, updates and maintains access user profiles.
• Partners with Human Resources and other appropriate departments when conducting investigations involving employees and recommends corrective action to appropriate leadership because of employee security and/or safety violations.

• 7 or more years of experience required in related field (i.e. Business, Security, etc.)
• 3-5 or more years of experience required if candidate possesses a related advanced degree
• Requires strong knowledge of MS Office Applications, i.e., Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, security applications, CCTV • Excellent leadership, coaching, mentoring, multi-tasking, organizational, project management, follow through, detail oriented, analytical problem solving, decision-making, customer relations, inpersonal, relationship building, presentation, written, verbal, and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout the organization and external contacts


• Bachelor’s or advanced degree preferred.

Job Requirements:

• Strong oral, written and organizational skills.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Web/HTML.
• Proven self-starter, who requires minimal supervision.
• Requires leadership, teamwork, adaptability and problem-solving skills.

Other Essential Job Requirements and Working Conditions:
