The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will work as a member of the Architecture team with primary responsibilities to maintain, build, and upgrade the RapidScale platforms and infrastructure.  The team is responsible for leading all technical efforts to successfully develop, plan, and implement new systems and capacity into the RapidScale platforms.  Team members are responsible for providing advanced support, troubleshooting, architectural design, and management of the overall health of the RapidScale managed cloud.


Primary Responsibilities and Accountabilities  (Essential Duties include but are not limited to):

  1. Maintain, build & upgrade multiple cloud environments within RapidScale’s infrastructure (Compute, Storage, Network, Hypervisor, Backups, DR, and Monitoring).
  2. Hands-on installation & configuration within the RapidScale Clouds & Data Centers
  3. Provide support on escalated trouble tickets when necessary.
  4. Review & report on utilization, performance & capacity
  5. Review entire environment and execute initiatives to reduce failures, defects, and improve overall performance.
  6. Document architectures, procedures, and processes for use by other cloud operators.


  • A college degree or equivalent work experience (5-7 years).
  • A proven level of expertise & competence with Infrastructure design, implementation, & operation
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of competency in managing technical projects
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Willingness to work on a 24x7 on-call rotation schedule
  • Travel 10%-40%
  • Excellent communication, presentation, writing, and editorial abilities.
  • Apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving problems that are complex in scope, requiring in-depth evaluation as well as the ability to identify problems in advance, and propose solutions.
  • Require limited supervision and direction; drive results, and set priorities independently.

  • Windows Server
  • Linux
  • Firewalls, Switches, & Load Balancers
  • Scripting (PowerShell, PowerCLI, Perl, Batch)
  • MS SQL Server
  • MS Exchange & o365
  • Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop
