Business Control Manager – Technology Risk & Control Routines

Job Description:

Assist in the execution of internal control discipline and operational excellence within a LOB or ECF. Execute LOB/ECF specific processes and tools to drive adherence to enterprise-wide Standards. Support the implementation of QA/QC processes within the LOB/ECF through ongoing monitoring and testing of controls. Identify issues and/or control improvements for remediation, whilst assisting in building out actions plans and milestones. Acts as an ambassador of the risk culture. Develop and direct staff. Incumbents typically have over 8+ years of risk management and LOB/ECF experience.

  • Liaise with internal and external partners to ensure appropriate communication, participation and timely coordination of the monthly, quarterly and ad hoc Risk and Regulatory routine deliverables; lead meetings as needed ensure effective collaboration and execution of deliverables.
  • Engage with Senior Management, to effectively direct and support and escalate risk and regulatory routine related asks as needed.
  • Work closely with team members to coordinate updates, metrics and review materials as needed to support routines; perform quality assurance checks before final submission to senior management.
  • Coordinate, maintain and communicate to stakeholders a schedule of deliverables and meeting timelines to ensure commitments are met on time.
  • Develop and maintain the records related to the regulatory and risk routines as needed, including final materials, follow ups and formal communications in SharePoint and team shared drives; support ongoing ad hoc inquiries related to same.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancing or streamlining execution of regulatory & risk management routines; partner across teams to execute.
  • Foster the Identify, Escalate, Debate risk culture.
  • Excellent written communication skills; proven experience in communicating to senior leadership. Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Minimum 5-8 years technology risk and control experience required.
  • Markets technology or Corp Investment technology background strongly preferred.
  • CISA or other similar industry certification strongly preferred.
  • The strongest candidates will have a love for problem solving, great partnership and communication skills, deep operational subject matter expertise, and the ability to envision, communicate and execute strategic planning and remediation of issues. This role will have senior level leadership exposure opportunities across GBAM Tech / Enterprise Risk & Finance Tech, allowing the right person to expand his/her network and expertise.
