Role Description: National Underwriting Executive

  • Senior Executive role leading our multi-faceted Client Underwriting and Protection operations for our Preferred and Retail First Mortgage Business
  • Responsible for taking the business strategy and converting it to executable plans.
  • Accountable for monitoring performance trends and makes suggestions to improve efficiency.
  • Sets strategic direction for delivering on the client experience and loan quality execution
  • Ensures all policies and procedures are followed and that underwriter decisions are sound.
  • Keeps systems up-to-date and leverages technology. Works closely with Credit Policy and Loan Production Managers to provide better communication.
  • Partners with multiple lines of business to resolve broad operational issues and promote ideas.
  • Responsible for proper communication and compliance with the regulatory requirements for mortgage lending, company accounting, controls, and procedures across multiple groups.
  • Responsible for budget/expense management and achieving identified operational goals as well as reporting and forecasting for areas managed.
  • Leverage date to monitor data performance trends and act on improvement opportunities. Coach and develop associates to achieve a world-class sales organization.
  • Responsible for driving Client underwriting and protection integration with local Market President’s office and local leaders of other Bank of America lines of business to drive coordinated engagement and participation in market-wide efforts to improve Responsible Growth, Community Development/ESG initiatives, as well as Diversity & Inclusion and Associate Engagement efforts.

Successful candidate would have experience with:

  • Experience leading managers across a broad geography
  • Applies analytics, data and facts to proactively identify opportunities, priority focus areas, root causes of performance gaps
  • Must have superior business and financial acumen to identify, quantify and prioritize business needs in a complex environment, making decisions that result in value to clients and increased profitability our businesses.
  • Collaborates with One Team partners, Fulfillment and Sales Performance leadership to deliver integrated, impactful solutions to drive performance
  • Serves as a change catalyst that leverages business expertise and influence to the drive execution of nationally defined initiatives through COCL sales management leaders and Lending Officers
  • Must have strong leadership skills and executive presence

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in the financial services industry
  • BA/BS in Finance, Business Administration or other business related discipline
  • Extensive knowledge of First Mortgage and Home Equity products and process
