ResponsibilitiesThe Research Experience for Students (RES) Program is a National Security Agency (NSA) Research Directorate opportunity for highly skilled undergraduates who are sophomores, juniors, or seniors with a background in computer science or electrical/computer engineering, machine learning, data science, and mathematics. Graduate students studying similar subjects will be considered in an as needed basis. Students will be afforded the opportunity to gain hands-on summer research experience in areas spanning the cyber security, SIGINT, and cyber operations facets of NSA's mission. The RES provides an opportunity for exceptional students to work directly with NSA Researchers on real-world, mission-critical problems while in a state-of-the-art laboratory environment. This is an opportunity to work with recognized intelligence experts taking on the emerging technological challenges of NSA. Successful students, who maintain security clearance eligibility and progress towards their terminal degrees, will be offered the opportunities to continue the experience through successive summers within the Research Directorate.
