ResponsibilitiesThe Research Directorate is looking for an energetic and technically astute leader to serve as an industry advisor. Responsibilities include building and advising on long-term strategic relationships with government, commercial industry, and the academic community supporting technology investment and transition in high performance computing, quantum research, and similar markets. Efforts will include advising on targeted strategic relationships in terms of dollars, personnel and technology to ensure NSA has access to scientific breakthroughs, and determining where it may be appropriate for cooperative research to expedite innovation. The primary duties and responsibilities of the Industry Advisor for Research include, but are not limited to: ' Collaborate with organizational and technical leaders to define and implement strategies to address organizational goals and objectives. ' Identify and pursue opportunities to advance the goals of the Research Directorate through collaborative efforts with other US Government (USG) agencies, commercial industry, and academia. ' Align, champion, and orchestrate USG, commercial, and academia capabilities and opportunities to address the needs of the Research Directorate. ' Foster an innovative and collaborative environment to identify and develop relationships and solutions critical to the success of the mission. ' Provide significant guidance, leadership and mentoring to advance innovation and teaming. ' Provide subject matter expertise to colleagues in support of their efforts. ' Actively participate in technology transitions, to include identifying new technologies and gaps that require solutions in order to fulfill mission needs. ' Document work and provide briefings to technical and non-technical audiences. ' Cultivate internal and external collaborative relationships with organizational and research leaders across the Agency and in academia, industry, national laboratories, military service laboratories, and other USG agencies. ' Work effectively with senior leaders, staff, and external customers at all levels, and operate sensitively in politically-charged situations. ' Advise leadership and team members on matters involving subject matter pertinent to the mission.

Leading the Intelligence Enterprise: 10 points Candidate should have a broad point of view of the Intelligence mission and an understanding of individual or organizational responsibilities in relation to larger Intelligence Community (IC) strategic priorities. Key factors to be considered include: ' Demonstrated knowledge, skill and/or ability to lead collaborative teams and stakeholders across USG to achieve a joint multi-agency mission outcome. ' Demonstrated knowledge, skill, and /or ability to understand the roles, missions, capabilities, and organizational and political realities of the intelligence enterprise and applying that understanding to drive joint, interagency, or multi-organization accomplishment. ' Demonstrated ability to understand equities issues and to advance a blended mission. ' Ability to contribute strategic thinking about political, economic, and technical issues. Continued Technical/Professional Development: 10 points Candidate should have a strong record of continuous enhancement of technical and professional skills and knowledge. Formal training, interaction with community experts, and technical expertise should be evaluated as part of the appraisal process. Factors to be taken into consideration include: ' Depth of knowledge in a technical discipline. ' Experience translating high-level visions into practically achievable strategies. ' Increasing the ability to relate narrow professional and technical specialties to the boarder needs of the community.
Pay, Benefits, & Work ScheduleThis is a full-time position, Monday through Friday. International and domestic travel may be required. Salary Range: $126,148 to $174,500
